Struggling with understanding course material in Texas colleges?

I am a Texas college student and I remember the struggles international students often face when trying to understand course material in Texas colleges. Coming from different educational background and sometimes different language, the transition can be daunting. Recall my friend from China who found it challenging to grasp complex concepts in our biology classes due to language barriers. She worked twice as hard, spending late nights in the library and seeking help from professors during office hours. It was inspiring to see her determination. Moreover, cultural differences can also play significant role in how we process information. Certain teaching styles or classroom norms may be unfamiliar, making it harder to engage with the material effectively. For those experiencing difficulties, found that forming study groups with peers who shared similar struggles was incredibly beneficial. We could explain concepts to each other in simpler terms and offer diverse perspectives that enriched our understanding.

Have you encountered similar challenges or witnessed them among your peers?. How did you overcome them or support others facing these obstacles?

Hey there!

Graduated from Texas A&M few years back and am now navigating the tech world in Silicon Valley. Totally understand feeling swamped with course material been there, done that! The best advice can give is to not hesitate to reach out to your professors or TAs during office hours. Sounds cliché, but it's the truth. Was little intimidated at first, but they're really there to help you grasp the material. It made world of difference for me. Honestly, Also, forming study groups with classmates worked wonders. Sometimes, your peers can explain concept in way that just clicks better than how it's presented in class or the textbook. By any chance, are you dealing with specific course or department?

Maybe some fellow Aggies or other Texan scholars could offer more tailored advice. Hang in there, buddy!
