Any tips for newbie starting at Odessa College? Particularly nervous about the Math department!

Just saw youngin' asking about kick-starting their journey at Odessa College. Was in your boots once, starting out at Sam Houston State University daunting stuff, especially that Math department, right? Alright then, let's talk turkey;).

Anyone got pointers to help rookie tackle Math over there?
