My honest review after trying professional resume writing services

I consider myself a pretty skeptical person. When my friend told me to try professional resume writing services, I thought it was a waste of money. I'm a marketing major—I should be able to sell myself, right? 🤷‍♂️

But after three months of interning applications with zero responses, I got desperate. I found a highly-rated service on Trustpilot and paid for their "entry level" package. It was about $150. Here's my honest take:

The Good: They made my resume look INCREDIBLE. The formatting was sleek, the language was so much more professional than what I had. They took my boring bullet point like "Helped with social media posts" and turned it into "Curated and scheduled engaging content across four platforms, increasing overall engagement by 15%." I didn't even think to quantify that! 📈

The Bad: It felt a little... generic? Like, I had to go back and add some of my personality back in because it sounded like a robot wrote it. Also, they messed up the name of my university at first, so definitely proofread!

Verdict: Worth it for me. I got three interview requests within two weeks of using the new version. But you have to be involved in the process. Don't just let them do it all. You know your experience best. Anyone else have a similar experience?

I've been staring at my resume for weeks wondering why it's not working.

The before/after example you gave is wild though—"helped with social media" vs what they wrote? Night and day difference. I definitely don't think in terms of metrics naturally.

$150 feels steep but also... three interview requests? Sounds like it paid for itself honestly. Might have to try this.
