I'm pre-med and already panicking about the cost of medical school. A Texas policy report found that "38 percent of Texas young adults report that their pay does not cover basic living expenses" . If I'm already struggling now, how will I afford med school?

I've been looking for scholarships specifically for pre-med students in Texas. A friend mentioned the Texas Health Resources Scholars Program but I can't find much info. Also heard about JAMP (Joint Admission Medical Program) for underserved students .

Has anyone received scholarships for pre-med in Texas? Where should I be looking? I need to minimize debt before I even get to med school. 😷

The M.D. Anderson scholarship at some Texas schools is real. At TCU it's $500-$5k/year for pre-meds with good GPA and healthcare experience . Not huge but every bit helps. Also, don't sleep on the St. David's Neal Kocurek Scholarship if you're in Central Texas — it's literally the largest healthcare scholarship in the state . Up to $60k over undergrad and med school combined. Life-changing.
