I've been out of the college game for bit (Houston Cougar alum here—Go Coogs! But my nephew's about to start his freshman year at Panola College. Remember the sleepless nights, midnight pizza runs, and trying to juggle five classes, work, and social life. Any sage wisdom or survival tips could pass on to him? Would really appreciate any insider knowledge about the Texas campus's campus life. Also, been pondering this for while—anyone ever transferred from community college into Austin?

One tip I'd give ya is to make use of all the resources available on campus – from study groups to professors' office hours, they can be a lifesaver.

And don't forget to balance your time between coursework and self-care; burnout ain't fun for anyone! When I started at Texas A&M, I found it helpful to connect with upperclassmen or alumni in the field for advice and guidance. They often have valuable insights that can help you navigate the college experience smoother. Have you checked out any clubs or organizations related to Emergency Management at Panola? It's a great way to meet like-minded folks and build your network!

What are you most looking forward to in your Emergency Management major? And how are you handling the transition from high school to college life in Texas? Good luck!
