I gotta be real with y'all - dealing with physical injuries while balancing endless rehearsal hours and battling performance anxiety is tough as nails. 🩹💃 But hey, us artists are resilient, right? I've been pondering lately about the wellness programs at colleges across Texas. Are they really worth it? 🤔 I mean, would having access to mental health resources, injury prevention tips, and stress management tools make a significant difference in navigating through the challenges of being a performing arts student? 🙏

As a Texas student passionate about dance and expressing myself through movement, I reckon it's crucial to find ways to stay mentally and physically fit while pursuing my dreams. 💪 Do any of y'all have experience with college wellness programs here in Texas? Are they effective in supporting students like me who are juggling intense schedules and artistic pressures? Let's chat, y'all! Share your thoughts and experiences - I'm all ears! Can't wait to hear from my fellow Texans who understand the grind of college life! 🤗

The question isn't whether wellness programs are worth it - it's whether your specific school's programs actually understand performing arts students. General campus counseling is helpful but sometimes they don't get why you're crying over a pirouette or why an injury feels like your whole identity is crumbling.

What worked for me: I found a counselor off-campus who specialized in performers. Cost money but my school's health center gave me referrals. Also check if your school has TimelyCare - it's a telehealth thing available at a lot of Texas schools now. Free virtual counseling and you can specify if you want someone who understands arts-related stress. Used it during tech week once when I couldn't leave campus. Lifesaver.
