I've been researching scholarships for pre-med students in Texas and found several programs that might help. Sharing in case others are in the same boat:

JAMP (Joint Admission Medical Program)
  • For "economically disadvantaged" students committed to becoming physicians
  • Provides $2,000 per year during undergrad + guaranteed interview at participating Texas med schools
  • Requires 3.25 GPA and specific course requirements
TEXAS Grant
  • For students with financial need enrolled in public Texas universities
  • Up to *$5,000+ per year* depending on school
  • Must maintain 2.5 GPA and complete 75% of hours attempted
Texas Health Resources Scholars Program
  • For students pursuing healthcare careers
  • Includes mentorship and internship opportunities plus financial support
  • Very competitive — only a handful selected each year
Nursing and Allied Health Scholarships
  • Various programs for nursing, dental hygiene, etc.
  • Often require service commitment in underserved areas after graduation
Toward EXcellence, Access and Success (TEXAS) Grant
  • Specifically for students who graduated from Texas high schools
  • Priority for "at-risk" students
  • Can be used at public universities and community colleges
The 2026 Texas Policy Agenda also mentions that young adults want "a say in decisions that impact them, feel safe and accepted in their communities, and be valued for their contributions" . Some scholarships are tied to community service or leadership — worth looking into.

For pre-med students: what scholarships have you found? Any hidden gems I should know about? I'm trying to stack as much aid as possible.
