So, I'm on my way to wrapping up my in Linguistics here (woohoo!. And realized that one of the things that really shaped my experience at Southern Methodist University were all the unique traditions. Who else can say they've seen professor get dumped into fountain or experienced the frenzy of Celebration of Lights?. Now, know we have quite few newbies joining us soon (welcome, by the way!. And thought it might be fun to share some of these traditions that might not be outlined in your admission packet.
Trust me, you don't want to miss out on these!. One tradition you absolutely cannot miss is Homecoming Weekend. Y'all, this ain't your average homecoming. We have Boulevarding, which is basically tailgating but with way more class and style think sun dresses, bow ties and champagne. Our Mustangs may or may not win the game, but nobody really cares because Boulevard is where it's at!. Then And let's not forget Celebration of Lights during winter holidays!.
