I transferred to UT Austin this semester and felt completely lost. Everyone already had friends. I was eating lunch alone, walking to class alone, feeling invisible. Then someone mentioned the Transfer Living Learning Community .
It's a residential program for first-year transfer students, all living together in Jester East Residence Hall . They have peer mentors, regular meetings, and events designed to help transfers connect .
I applied immediately. The idea of living with other transfers — people who also understand what it's like to start over — sounds like exactly what I need.
Has anyone done this program? Is it worth it? I'm desperate for community.
